Job Summary:

Under limited supervision performs cross-store category management activities. Also performs exceptional customer service through specialized product knowledge and friendly transaction processing.

Essential Functions:

+ Cross-store category management training & coordination of core product selection, merchandising, pricing, and promotions.

+ Conduct monthly meetings with store product managers and vendor reps / brokers to maximize product & pricing consistency, determine monthly promotional items, and enhance inter-store relations and communication.

+ Work closely with all store managers to make recommendations in hiring, training, and the status of related departmental employees.

+ Manage new product and vendor introduction by reviewing product recommendations from store product managers, conferring with vendors to obtain product information such as price, availability, ingredients, and delivery schedules.

+ Continually work with store manager and product managers to re-merchandises products to enhance sales.

+ Receives product, merchandises, and prices in efficient and effective manner.

+ Actively evaluates the movement of the products to determine top sellers and products that should be promoted, and / or discontinued.

+ Regularly assist customers in product selection and conduct customer transactions in an efficient and friendly manner.

+ May direct the work of employees working within the Department.

+ Maintain a clean and orderly work area.

Job Qualifications:

+ Associate’s degree or equivalent from two-year college or technical school; or six months to one year related experience and/or training; or equivalent combination of education and experience.

+ Ability to read and interpret documents such as safety rules, operating and maintenance instructions, and procedure manuals. Good verbal and written communication skills are necessary.

+ Ability to calculate figures and amounts such as discounts, interest, proportions, percentages, and volume.

+ Ability to apply common sense understanding to carry out instructions furnished in written, oral, or diagram form. Ability to deal with problems involving several concrete variables in standardized situations.

Physical Requirements:

+ While performing the duties of this job, the employee is regularly required to stand; walk; sit; use hands to finger, handle, or feel; reach with hands and arms; climb or balance; stoop, kneel, crouch, or crawl; talk or hear; and taste or smell.

+ Additional requirements include the ability to function in cool walk-in and refrigerated environments to 38 degree F for an extended period of time. The employee must also have clear vision such as near acuity, far acuity, depth perception, accommodation, color vision, and field of vision.

+ The employee must exert up to 50 lbs. of force occasionally, and/or up to 25 lbs. of force frequently, and/or up to 5 lbs. of force constantly to move objects.
