Team Gilbert has an exciting opportunity for a highly motivated professional to fill the position of Recreation Instructor – General.

The Recreation Instructor – General reports to the Recreation Coordinator. The primary function of this position is to teach a wide range of recreation classes for early childhood to adult age groups. Instructors work independently in a classroom and are expected to provide their own class curriculum and classroom management skills. Instructors must also be able to resolve classroom conflicts, adapt to participants needs/behaviors, respond to emergency situations and enforce facility and classroom policies/procedures. Positions may be available at the following locations: Freestone Recreation Center, Gilbert Community Center, McQueen Park Activity Center and the Southeast Regional Library. Applicants will be assigned to a location based on program needs.

You are someone who effectively exceeds customer needs by building productive customer relationships, and takes responsibility for customer satisfaction and loyalty. You actively participate as a member of a team to move the team toward the completion of goals and produce quality outcomes. You are committed to our safety philosophy, and you take great pride in proactively managing time and resources to ensure that work is completed efficiently while accomplishing objectives and achieving goals beyond what is required.

At Team Gilbert, we hire innovative, forward thinking problem-solvers who love what they do! In addition to possessing the ability to live out our core and functional values daily, candidates must possess the following requirements:

+ Be able to create and implement age appropriate curriculum

+ One year of formal teaching experience

+ Skilled and passionate about teaching in a structured, fun recreation environment

+ Minimum of an 8-12 week teaching commitment. This can be an ongoing position depending availability and facility needs.

+ Current CPR and First Aid certification are preferred, but not required

+ Age requirement: Must be 18+ years
