Engineer 2, Lidar and Image Processing

Our Tucson, Arizon office has an immediate opening for a Engineer 2, Lidar and Image Processing . This is a exempt non-supervisory full-time position.
Researches, designs, develops and verifies signal and image processing approaches. Defines and develops processing and dissemination algorithms. Utilizes modern modeling and analysis tools such as Matlab or Python to extract information regarding sensor system performance, target extraction, and environmental phenomenology. Approaches require the use of statistics of signals and noise and detection and estimation theory. Works closely with systems engineering to understand sensor and environmental physics impacting data collection. Interacts with software engineering to reduce algorithms to operational code base for real time processing.
+ Works under general supervision to apply technical workflows for detection and tracking, image processing
+ Writes code to ingest and examine data from sensors, such as lidar and or camera data
+ Evaluates algorithm performance and develops modifications to improve performance
+ Prioritizes multiple tasks and contributes to completion of technical milestones on schedule
+ Prepares presentation-worthy graphics and technical briefings, with an emphasis on high-quality visualization and technical writing
+ Provides project management support in the form of proposal preparation, participation in marketing presentations, and ongoing strategic business conversations
+ May support outdoor field tests with occasional travel
+ Additional duties as assigned
2-4 years of relevant experience with a BS or MS in Engineering, Applied Mathematics or Physics, or similar technical degree program. Demonstrated experience with processing airborne remote sensing data.
+ Matlab, Python, or similar analytical toolset expertise
+ Strong analytical skills demonstrated through in depth physics based modeling and data analysis
+ Demonstrated understanding of the statistics of signals and noise and detection and estimation theory
+ Experience with lidar remote sensing
+ US Citizen
