Job Description

Axway’s global cloud operation team has an immediate opening for a U.S. Purchasing Manager. A successful candidate would have experience in the purchasing field preferably within the Software/IT industry. In addition, would have a proven track record evaluating suppliers based on cost, quality, service and reliability and have the capacity to represent Axway in negotiating contracts and formulating and enforcing policies internally and with suppliers. Experience in negotiating inbound OEM contracts for technology to be incorporated into Axway’s solutions is preferred.

Key Responsibilities

· Negotiate new and renewal in-bound technology OEM agreements, Cloud and on-premise software vendors

· Work with internal organizations in developing and executing processes for identified third party OEM opportunities

· Prepare purchase requisitions, approve and issue purchase orders in accordance with company policy and negotiated terms and conditions

· Track Purchasing activity, metrics and impact

· Manage vendor relationships and assist in building effective partnerships

· Assist department in developing and implementing purchasing strategies for products and services

· Sourcing and selecting suppliers, negotiating prices, and recommending purchases to obtain the best possible prices while adhering to quality specifications, service-level requirements, and supplier-innovation opportunity

· Monitoring and verifying availability and delivery dates, prioritizing, scheduling, and expediting delivery of materials to meet target dates

· Analyzing price variances to ensure adherence of suppliers to contractual obligations and good purchasing practices

· Preparing regular vendor reports, detailing supplier performance regarding service and quality

· Interfacing with internal and external customers to resolve quality issues, including rejected materials

· Performing vendor audits as needed

· Participate in the development of specifications for equipment, products or substitute materials

· Manage approval chain for Purchasing cycle following delegation and purchasing policy

Key Competencies

· Expertise in managing all aspects of large contract negotiations including OEM and Software vendors

· Understanding of licensing arrangements around Software providers

· Excellent analytical, conceptual, communication and interpersonal skills

· The ability to work well in a team environment and independently

· Ability to handle multiple project tasks and deadlines simultaneously

· The ability to think creativity and be successful in a dynamic environment while recommending and implementing process improvements

· Ability to work effectively with multiple remote locations and all levels of management (strong communication skills, work cross culturally)


· 5-7 years relevant purchasing and or supply chain experience

· Bachelors required

· Advanced proficiency with Microsoft Excel, Word, and PowerPoint

· Experience with Database, ERP and Procurement Software Systems

· Experience with AWS and CloudHealth a plus

· Professional demeanor and strong communication skills, both written and oral

· Experience in Computer Software, IT, High-Tech Industry

· Experience in multi-cultural environment a plus

· Some travel required (including international)
