Job Description

Quality Control Technician (Microbiology) – Phoenix, AZ

We have an exciting opportunity for a Quality Control Technician (Microbiology) to work with one of our top clients in Phoenix, AZ

Schedule/Shift : Monday through Friday 8:00 am to 5:00 PM

6 month temporary contact with likely extension

Summary: The QC Technician (Microbiology) works both independently and with the team to perform routine microbiological sampling, testing and Microbiology laboratory maintenance functions

Duties and Responsibilities:

+ Samples water and steam

+ Prepares schedules, sample labels and controlled document forms for sampling water and steam systems in accordance with SOP requirements.

+ Collects water samples from AWFI, WFI, DI Feed and Pure Steam ports used to support manufacture drug products.

+ Prepares water and steam system sampling spreadsheets.

+ Performs general laboratory duties.

+ Operates laboratory equipment used to provide sterile and depyrogenated materials.

+ Re-stocks and organizes laboratory supplies and materials.

+ Prepares media used in microbiological testing.

+ Receives and records laboratory samples, reagents, chemicals and testing media.

+ Performs general laboratory cleaning/wipe-down.

+ Carries out responsibilities in accordance with the organization s policies, procedures, and state, federal and local laws.

+ Ensures compliance with current Good Manufacturing Practice cGMP , USP, EU, BP, JP and other regulatory requirements at all times.

+ Coordinates with cross functional departments to ensure sampling does not interfere with manufacturing activities.

+ Executes basic protocol requirements.

+ Performs other tasks as assigned.

Education and Experience

+ High school diploma required.

+ 1 plus year relevant work experience required, preferably in a manufacturing environment with cGMP requirements
