Designs and defines system architecture for new or existing computer systems.
+ The Web Proxy Engineer monitors and manages enterprise proxy servers on the Army network. The reverse Web proxy servers protect the Regular Army, Reserve, and National Guard Web sites from defacement and possible compromise through known Web exploits. The forward Web proxy servers improve Web browsing performance, filter Web site access based on Army policy, and prevent compromise of Army workstations from malicious Web site content.
+ Leads a group of engineers, analysts, technicians, and/or one or more project engineers
+ Operate, monitor, sustain, and secure the enterprise reverse and forward Web proxy servers on the Army network.
+ Monitor the proxies for attempted intrusions of proxied Web sites.
+ Add or remove Web sites per website administrator’s ITSM ticket request, and DOD and Army regulations (AR) and policies.
+ Provide assistance to users and remote Web site administrators.
+ Coordinate with installation Network Enterprise Centers (NECs) on router, firewall, and port access.
+ Create and maintain ACLs for all Web proxy servers. Update forward proxy policy through pre-tested canned scripts or the use of such tools as Bluecoat Director.
+ Create administrative and user accounts, and provide proper permissions so that authorized users can access Web reports. Provide Web usage reports using Bluecoat Reporter to authorized users.
+ Create user accounts for authorized users for creation of Web site utilization reports in the Bluecoat Reporter tool or like tool.
+ Create, modify, and schedule user and other statistical analysis reports, as tasked by the COR. Maintain data on Web site hits and denials for one year, as a minimum.
Bachelors Degree in Computer Science, Engineering or a related technical discipline, or the equivalent combination of education, technical training, or work/military experience.
8-10 years of related systems engineering experience.
Certifications: IAT II (e.g. CCNA Security, Security+ CE); Computing Environment certification
