We are looking for an Emulator Test Subsystems Technologist to provide a systems approach to the design and development of novel missile/platform simulators for engineering laboratory and field test environments used to ensure the performance capability and mission assurance of Raytheon Missile Systems (RMS) products. It is the role of the Test Systems Solution Center (TSSC), an engineering center within the Systems Test Directorate, to protect the warfighter by delivering proven and affordable Test Solutions that ensure the capabilities and integrity of Raytheon products. The individual will have the opportunity to: Work with State-of-the-Art and Emerging Technologies. Work with the Systems Test Director, TSSC Center Manager, Test Systems Chief Technologist, Customers and a Multidiscipline Team in a Collaborative Environment. Define Innovative Hands-On and Automated Test Systems for a Variety of RMS Products. Mentor the Developers of Hardware and Software Designs Grow Within the Business as a Technical Authority. The Test Systems Solutions Center employs multiple engineering and disciplines and is seeking top talent to join its creative and energetic team of over 520 engineers. Job Description: The Emulator Test Subsystems Technologist candidate must have the ability to provide expert technical leadership to a multidiscipline team performing design, integration and validation of RMS test products within the Test Systems Solution Center. As such, the candidate will be primarily responsible for defining Test Environment (TEn) architecture and providing technical leadership during all stages of Special Test Equipment (STE) development for emulators simulating missile products, emulators simulating flight/ground platforms (such as aircrafts/ships) and field software/BIT support products. The successful skillset of the Emulator Test Subsystems Technologist will include an emphasis on the ability to drive test efficacy, commonality, efficiency, and affordability into STE designs. The Emulator Test Subsystems Technologist will be responsible for both domestic and international test solutions across all RMS product lines and associated programs. The candidate will report to Systems Test and Test Systems Chief Technologist leadership levels while working autonomously to define strategic solutions. The candidate will work with and through other technologists and engineers while being accountable for the technical soundness of emulator test subsystems through the entire development lifecycle to include: requirements, integration, verification, customer acceptance, post-delivery support and obsolescence abatement of highly complex emulation systems that include simulation, stimulation, response, data acquisition, GO/NOGO assessment and data reporting. Typical work involves: frequent use and application of complex engineering standards, principles, theories, concepts, techniques and processes; employ knowledge of systems engineering, mission planning, weapons integration and other engineering disciplines; interaction with other engineering groups to define, analyze, perform, and interpret tests requirements; uncovering issues and determining a course of action to obtain the desired results; routinely report of progress to leaders; leading and presenting in design reviews; authoring associated technical documents; maintaining a high level of technical expertise in the role and applying advanced technical knowledge to present and future emulator subsystem designs. The successful candidate will show a high degree of collaboration, technical vision, and corporate/team leadership that defines and directs the technical path for future emulator test solutions aligned with future RMS products. Required Skills: Bachelor’s Degree in Engineering, Science, Math or other relevant technical discipline. A minimum of 12+ years relevant professional engineering design work with a proven expertise in complex emulator subsystems design and aerospace related test system architectures Expert in designing, manufacturing, integrating and maintaining laboratory/field weapon (missiles) emulators to demonstrate weapon functionality on multiple platforms (power, initialization, timing, communication, mission modes, etc.) Expert in designing, manufacturing, integrating and maintaining laboratory/field platform emulators to integrate with weapon systems, including multiple type of platform simulations (F14, F16, F35, etc.) and concurrent launch scenarios Expert in designing, integrating and maintaining laboratory/field SW/BIT support products to evaluate weapon health and provide software upgrades Technical expertise in military aircraft/ship weapon and communication interfaces Technical expertise in military fire and control systems Expert in executing emulators integration, verification, acceptance and training plans including conducting regression analysis to evaluate complex mission scenarios and system performance A self-driven technical achiever who can work in diverse communities and environments (e.g., military flight line) to define technical strategies and execution in response to technology dynamics and growth Proven technical leadership in leading senior multi-discipline engineers to drive innovative solutions and rapid results New business capture experience including customer interface as well as contribution or authoring of white papers, competitive proposal’s technical volumes and growth strategies Vast experience and broad knowledge of industry (commercial) simulator solutions Experience in developing strategic partnerships with suppliers to drive affordable emulator test solutions with minimal time to market Solid technical knowledge and problem solving skills across multiple disciplines Well-developed verbal communications, presentation skills and influence across engineering and customer organizations A proven ability to accurately document architectures and solutions Excellent business acumen (ROI, etc.) Excellent people skills and mentoring capabilities of senior engineers U.S. Citizenship Active DoD Secret Clearance adjudicated within the past five years Desired Skills: Master’s degree in Engineering, Science, Math or other relevant technical discipline. 20+ years of years of relevant professional engineering design work with a proven expertise in complex emulator subsystems design and aerospace related test system architectures Experience with lifecycle support including training and technical support to domestic and international customers Knowledgeable in and application of Model Based Engineering (MBE) development. Experience with virtual verification of test systems Experience in using MatLab, NI Test Stand, Creo Schematic, Creo Parametric and Rhapsody tools Excellent technical writing skills Risk and opportunity management experience Patents, Papers and Publications in related technical field Required Education (including Major): Bachelor’s Degree in Science, Technology, Engineering or Mathematics (STEM)
