This position is located at the Kayenta Service Unit (KSU), Division
of Clinical Services, Kayenta, AZ. The incumbent of this position
provides supervisory, administrative and clinical consultative
services to these facilities. This position serves as a Clinical
Services Director for KSU with full responsibility for supervising
all primary care staff at the Kayenta Health Center, Inscription
House and the Dennehotso Health Station. The incumbent reports to
the Chief Executive Officer.

Kayenta Health Center, Division of Clinical Services, Kayenta, AZ.
- Works on day-to-day basis with the Chief Executive Officer (CEO)
and other key staff member who share accountability in top
management discussions, decisions and policy development.
- Participates in the formulation of policies, programs and
procedures related to clinical services Service Unit wide.
Develops and implements plans, programs for the improvement,
expansion and/or contraction of patient services, for the
revision of present programs and services to meet the changing
needs of the patient population, and for the integration of
public health and other program activities with other elements
of clinical programs and with local, state and government
- Serves as a member of Service Unit, Navajo Area and IHS-wide
committees and task force as approved by the Service Unit CEO;
As a member of the Service Unit Management Team; participates in
managing compliance with inspections procedures utilization
review, pharmacy and therapeutics, infection prevention and
control, etc.; participates as member of the Compliance
- Provides comprehensive and continuing health and medical care
for patients across the age spectrum. Assignments involve the
full range of medical problems including recognition and
treatment of complex diseases and assessment and stabilization
of critically ill patients before transport to a higher level of
care; the assignment also includes providing consultation to
others to interpret findings and assists in determining nature
and extent of diagnosis.

health care facility staff working in Indian Health Service health
Incumbent may be required to visit homes, schools, and other
community sites in order to accomplish the duties and
responsibilities of this position and travel on government business,
occasionally out of state. Incumbent is required to maintain a
valid State driver’s license
On-call hours or standby duty may be required.

Degree from Foreign Medical School:* A Doctor of Medicine or
equivalent degree from a foreign medical school must provide
education and medical knowledge equivalent to accredited schools in
