This position is the Supervisory Nurse (Clinical Accountability and
Metrics) with the Division of Clinical Services, at the Northern
Navajo Medical Center (NNMC), in Shiprock, NM. To Implement and
support various multi-service clinical software applications used a
the Service Unit and Field Clinics. Provides specialized nursing
care to patients. The Incumbent reports to the Clinical Director.

The duties involve providing technical support and serving as a
coordinator for software application packages, consulting with
appropriate staff in customizing software and training staff. The
position collaborates with other application coordinators to
implement a comprehensive and standardized clinical information
system. In addition, to design and/or redesign an integrated
clinical information system with clinical care staff of an emphasis
of business processes.
Perform comprehensive professional nursing duties for the care of
patients with a variety of injuries and illnesses in all age groups
and their families who present with a range of health problems.
Provide supervision to subordinate employees, Determine staff and
other resources necessary for program operations and adjustments
among subordinate units as deemed appropriate. Establish, revise and
approval overall work schedules and determine individual and/or
group work assignments.

Education: A graduate or higher level degree, bachelor’s degree,
associate degree, or diploma from an accredited professional nursing
educational program is required. This education must have been
accredited by the Commission on Collegiate Nursing Education
(external link), Council on Accreditation of Nurse Anesthesia
Educational Programs (external link), Accreditation Commission for
Midwifery Education (external link), or an accrediting body
recognized by the U.S. Department of Education (external link) at
the time the degree was obtained.
Degree from Foreign Nursing School: Official certification from
the Commission on Graduates of Foreign Nursing Schools (external
link) is required for individuals who graduated from foreign nursing
Licensure: For all grade levels and positions, applicants must
have passed the National Council Licensure Examination (external
link). In addition, they must possess a current, active, full, and
unrestricted license or registration as a professional nurse from a
State, the District of Columbia, the Commonwealth of Puerto Rico, or
a territory of the United States.
In addition to the Basic Requirements, you must also meet the
Minimum Qualifications stated below.
GS-13: Your resume must demonstrate at least one (1) year of
specialized experience equivalent to at least the next lower grade
level in the Federal service obtained in either the private or
public sector performing the following type of work and/or tasks:
Planning, organizing, reviewing, evaluating and, implementing
duties of subordinates. Planning, directing, implementing, and
troubleshooting of clinical software packages.Experience
coordinating services for patients with chronic conditions.
