This position is for a program financial analyst, responsible for the financial execution of multiple programs in a dynamic manufacturing environment. The selected candidate will provide financial decision support to stakeholders focused on minimizing risk and maximizing return of program profit by managing financial requirements and program execution. The program financial analyst is responsible for supporting cross-functional program teams, program managers & program directors with detailed and accurate financial analysis while communicating financial status to all levels of the organization.
Principle Responsibilities consist of:
+ Provides tracking, analysis, and reporting of projects of varying contract type, size and complexity
+ Supports project execution by performing financial analysis and other program support related to the technical and business resources needed to achieve program objectives; includes pre- and post-award project activities from inception through closeout
+ Develop relationships as a full business partner with respective Program Managers/Directors, supporting business area strategy, providing financial data and analysis for decision making, including: developing business case analysis, supporting proposal activity, analyzing make-buy decisions, and acting as the primary point of contact for all financial matters
+ Responsible project start-up and close-out as well as monthly program revenue, cost management, and profit recognition over the life of the program
+ Analyze manufacturing cost, including standard labor estimates, bills of material, overhead indirect overhead rate application, and other costs to support program cost analysis, cash flow forecasting, workload planning, and indirect rate development
+ Develops and reviews financial data for inclusion in cost proposals, contract reviews, forecasts and variance explanations. Key member in the completion of the operating plan, quarterly, half year, and full year forecast updates requiring participation in cross functional collaboration
+ Other duties as assigned
Typical Education & Experience
Typically a Bachelor’s Degree or equivalent experience
Required Skills and Education
+ Bachelor s degree in accounting or finance
+ Self-motivated with a bias for action, process/results oriented
+ Problem solving and in depth research and analytical skills; Must be detail oriented with meticulous record-keeping skills
+ Ability to work effectively to meet deadlines
+ Solid understanding of project finance concepts and application
+ Ability to handle multiple assignments under extreme time constraints / stress
+ Ability to work limited overtime (days, evenings, weekends) to meet business needs
+ Ability to work cooperatively across multiple Finance and non-Finance functions
+ Strong Excel skills
Preferred Skills and Education
+ Experience with project forecasting and analysis, particularly in a manufacturing and/or defense contracting environment
+ Change agent, drives process improvements
+ Understanding of Cost Accounting Standards
