Position Summary

Seasonal positions are available in the fast-paced University of Arizona Bookstore’s for back to school rushes and other peak times. These employees will assist the campus community as they purchase their textbooks and supplies for back-to school.

We offer a variety of sales and stocking positions. The store is open seven days a week.

The Bookstore has a business casual dress code: no jeans, shorts or t-shirts. No visible tattoos or piercings other than pierced ears.

Duties & Responsibilities

  • Assist with a variety of retail duties.
  • Perform tasks which require accuracy and attention to detail.
  • Maintain regular, consistent and professional attendance, punctuality, and business casual appearance.
  • Assist with stocking textbook shelves.
  • Assist with greeting customers and providing outstanding customer service.
  • Receive merchandise in warehouse.
  • Replenish merchandise on shelves from back stock.
  • Place price tags on merchandise.
  • Place tags, markers or labels on shelves to identify stock.
  • Assist customers in locating needed merchandise, materials or supplies.
  • Assist with receiving on the loading dock.
  • Assist with unloading trucks and getting the product to the appropriate store location.
  • Most positions require physical activity with lifting, bending, walking, and standing.

Knowledge, Skills, & Abilities

Minimum Qualifications

  • Ability to lift 25 pounds.

Arizona Board of Regents Minimum Qualifications

Six months of experience in sales and stocking merchandise; OR, any equivalent combination of experience, training and/or education.

Preferred Qualifications

  • Previous University Book Store experience.
  • Previous textbook sales experience.
  • Receiving and stock experience.
