Job Duties:In order Lo perform this type of work, workers must be able lo work outside for up Lo 7 to 12 hours per day in a variety of weather and have the requisite strength and endurance to do repetitive tasks while meeting stated performance standards. Workers will be provided with all necessary equipment to complete tasks, equipment must be returned once tasks have been completed. Workers performing rose-related tasks will be provided with chaps, canvas sleeves, and gloves, which must also be returned once tasks have been completed.
J) Workers will be involved in various tasks such as, but not limited to: fall budding and tying. possible rebudding. Cutting rose root stock in fields, processing root stock. planting root stock in fields. cutting rose plants in fields. processing rose stock, planting rose stock, process rose grafting wood in the fields, process rose grafting \VOOd weeding, thinning and general farm work, rose bush harvesting. sorting plants, grading plants. stacking plants, tying plants into bundles of l 0, sawing plants, counting bundles, loading plant bundles into trailers .Loading and moving plant bundles from trailers to semi trucks. Cleaning and maintaining facilities.
ASSURANCES:
Housing: The employer must provide free housing to all workers who are not reasonably able to return to their residences the same day.
Meals: The employer must provide either three meals a day to each worker or furnish free and convenient cooking and kitchen facilities.
If meals are provided, the employer may charge each worker a certain amount per day for the three meals.
Transportation:
1. After a worker has completed 50 percent of the work contract period, the employer must reimburse the worker for the cost of
transportation and subsistence from the place of recruitment to the place of work, if such costs were borne by the worker.
2. The employer must provide free transportation between the employers housing and the work site for any worker who is provided
housing.
3. Upon completion of the work contract, the employer must pay the workers subsistence and return transportation to the place of
recruitment. Special conditions apply when the worker will not be returning to the place of recruitment because of another job.
Workers Compensation Insurance: The employer must provide workers compensation insurance where it is required by law.
Tools and Supplies: The employer must furnish at no cost to the worker all tools and supplies necessary to carry out the work, unless it
is common practice in the area and occupation for the worker to provide certain items.
