ORGANIZATIONAL LOCATION: Department of Health & Health Human
Services (HHS), Indian Health Service (IHS), Southwest Region,
Phoenix Area, Administrative Services- Facilities Management,
Colorado River Service Unit, located in Parker, Arizona. . Position
is supervised by the Health System Administrator ( Chief Operations
Officer).

  1. Responsibilities

Major Duties:

- Program duties- Designs, coordinates, manage and administer
a facilities engineering program within the Indian Health
Service. Plans annual facilities activity program to provide for
maintenance and repair of buildings and structures, facilities,
utilities and clinical equipment.
- Supervisory duties- Directly supervise Supervisory
Maintenance Mechanic and is responsible for management of the
facilities program completing; performance evaluations, awards
and selection of staff and budget for the program.
- General duties- Provide guidance and technical support for
all Architectural, Civil, Environmental, Mechanical and
Electrical functions for the Service Unit. Responsible for
updating policy & procedures and insuring compliance is met for
Service Unit

persons hired for these positions have not been found guilty of or

A one-year supervisory/managerial probationary period may be
required upon selection/placement.

Measles and Rubella immunization required for selectees born
after 1957. Seasonal Influenza immunization is required for civilian
health care facility staff working in Indian Health Service health
care facilities.

On-call hours or standby duty may be required.

Work Schedule: Monday thru Friday, 40 hours per week.

  1. Qualifications

To qualify for this position, your resume must state sufficient
experience and/or education, to perform the duties of the specific
position for which you are applying.

Experience refers to paid and unpaid experience, including volunteer
work done through National Service programs (e.g., Peace Corps,
AmeriCorps) and other organizations (e.g., professional;
philanthropic; religious; spiritual; community; social). You will
receive credit for all qualifying experience, including volunteer
and part time experience. You must clearly identify the duties and
responsibilities in each position held and the total number of hours
per week.

For positions requiring positive education requirements, or if you
are using education to meet all or part of the qualification
requirements, you MUST submit a copy of your transcripts or an
itemized list of college courses which includes equivalent
information from the transcript (course title, semester/quarter
hours, and grade/degree earned) in your resume.

BASIC QUALIFICATIONS:
- Degree in professional engineer form a school of engineering
with at least one program accredited by the Accreditation Board
for Engineering and Technology (ABET) as a professional
engineering curriculum.
- Degree in professional engineering that includes differential
and integral calculus and courses in at least 5 of the following
7 areas of engineering science or physics : (1) statics,
dynamics; (2) strength of materials; (3) fluid mechanics,
hydraulics; (4) thermodynamics; (5) electrical fields and
circuits; (6) nature and properties of materials: (7) any other
comparable area of engineering science or physics.
- Degree in professional engineering from a foreign institution
that has been accepted as equivalent to ta conventional U.S.
higher education program.
- Combination of education and experience- college-level
education, training, and/or technical experience, which is
demonstrated by my professional Engineer (PE) by a State, the
District of Columbia, Guam, or Puerto Rico.
- Combination of education and experience- college-level
education, training, and/or technical experience , which is
demonstrated by having passed the fundamentals of Engineering
(FE) examination of any other written test required for
professional registration by an engineering licensure board in a
State, the District of Columbia, Guam, or Puerto Rico.
- Combination of education and experience- college-level
education, training, and/or technical experience, which is
demonstrated by my successful completion of at least 60 semester
hours of courses in the physical, mathematical, and engineering
sciences and that included the courses specified in option B
above.
- Combination of education and experience- college-level
education, training, and/or technical experience, which is
demonstrated by my successful completion of a curriculum leading
to a bachelor’s degree in an appropriate scientific field, such
as engineering technology, physics, chemistry, architecture,
computer science, mathematics, hydrology, or geology AND I have
at least 1 year of professional engineering experience acquired
under professional engineering supervision and guidance.

MINIMUM QUALIFICATIONS-0801-12:
- 1 year of specialized experience equivalent to at least the
