Description
One of Arizona’s three International Accredited Test Facility that offers welding certifications through the American Welding Society (AWS) on site. Students will learn basic skills in the SMAW, GMAW (MIG), GTAW (TIG) and OFC processes. During this course, students will weld in all positions and practice for AWS certifications. Using NCCER and AWS Sense curriculum student’s complete modules in each welding process and will perform Welder Performance Qualifications (WPQ) in accordance with AWS standards. When students pass WPQ’s they will receive an internationally recognized AWS certification. Other program modules include: Shop safety, print reading, welding symbols, Welding Procedure Specifications (WPS), theory and fabrication. Graduates can work in a variety of welding industries such as; Mining, Ornamental iron, Structural steel, Shipbuilding, Pipe welding, Aerospace, Weld inspection and Sales. The EVIT welding department's primary goal is to align our program with industry and prepare students for entry level employment in the welding industry. Instructors are NCCER certified.
