A. The Medical Insurance Billing and Coding
Program provides training for entry level positions in private physician offices, clinics and hospitals. Students are exposed to the
International Classification of Disease (ICD-10), Current Procedural Terminology (CPT), Healthcare Common Procedure Coding System (HCPCS) CMS 1500 form, and its correct applications as they relate to describing
diagnoses, procedures, services, supplies, and injections. Students will learn basic computer skills using MS Office and concepts related to
medical office management, including interpersonal relationships, and
communication. The program will also cover Anatomy, Medical Terminology, Insurance Processing, and descriptions of the patient
reception, office facility, equipment. It will illustrate appointment scheduling, medical records management and its components. Graduates are prepared to deal with patients’ medical information, health records,
medical reports and treatment outcomes. The Medical Insurance and Coding Program consists of 8 modules of Multiple courses and
Externship/Practicum giving the student on the job training to enhance their classroom experience. Day & Evening classes are attended 4 days per week; After successful completion of all classroom coursework, the student is scheduled for Externship in a private Medical office or Clinic for 160 clock hours. Brookline College prepares students to take

Homeland Security. 2. Must pass a background check prior to Externship; if applicable finger print clearance; 3.The prospective student must have a High School Diploma or GED; Applicant must be 18 years of age at the time of admission. 4. Allied health students are required to demonstrate completion of immunizations paid by Brookline College. Requirements are
as follows: two (2) MMR in a lifetime, two (2) Varicella, Tetanus vaccine less than 10 years old, at least the first two (2) series of Hepatitis B, and Negative PPD (TB) or a negative chest X-ray done within the past year. Brookline College will not pay for an X-ray if student had positive TB skin test that requires an annual chest X-ray.
