A. Course Objective: Credential Recovery Support Specialists
Description: The Parent & Family Support Specialist Institute (P&FSI) is a state credentialing training offered to certify members in the community who identify as peers or family members with lived experience in mental health and/or substance use to work in the behavioral health or social services field.
Competencies to be achieved: Receive a state certification/credential as a Parent & Family Support Specialist Institute (P&FSI). Specialists will increase skills to identify strengths, wants, needs, barriers, resources and individualized goals pf persons diagnosed with a mental illness and/or substance use disorder. To learn relationship development, active listening, assessment and support readiness for change, and inspire hope. To learn technical skills and evidenced based

Workforce Development Program will offer refunds at a pro-rated amount based on attendance and completion of the course work. Tuition is non-refundable. Total cost excluding tuition is $800 for a five day period with each day costing $160/day of training.
