The Global Broadband Operations team's mission is to provide reliable internet service to our customers around the globe. We are connecting the unconnected in many parts of the world that are getting access to the internet for the first time. We are also helping people stay connected while they work or do remote learning from home, or while they fly for business or leisure on major airlines such as Delta and JetBlue.
As a software engineer on the Global Broadband Operations team, you will be working on software that is used every day by users and future software solutions that solve some of the most pressing problems in the company. One of our goals is to help Viasat scale at a global level by providing software solutions and platforms with a focus on efficiency and collaboration to both internal and external customers.
In this position, you will:
*Design and build creative, customer-focused solutions from the ground up
*Get direct feedback from users and iterate on products
*Work with a team that fully embraces the lean startup methodology
*Collaborate with other teams within Viasat to build robust and integrated solutions
*Have a big impact and influence on the direction of the products and technology stack
*Employ machine learning techniques where applicable
Location is flexible with preferences in Carlsbad and Boston
4+ years of software development experience - this could include Python/C++/C/Java/Golang/ C#
Excellent verbal and written communication skills
Bachelor's degree in computer science, or equivalent experience
Up to 10% domestic travel (travel could be slightly more if remote)
Experience leading a software engineering team
Experience with product management / being a software product owner
Experience with designing scalable software architecture and utilizing design patterns
Cloud platforms including AWS (EC2, ECS, RDS, etc.)
Web service technologies including Django, NGINX, Celery, ReactJS
CI/CD and relevant technologies such as Docker, Jenkins, Amazon ECS, Kubernetes
Visualization / ELK Stack / Grafana / Splunk

For Colorado-based jobs only: The minimum for this position is $135,650 annually; however, base pay may vary depending on job-related knowledge, skills, and experience.
