What you'll do:The Strategic Planning Manger reports to the Director of Investor Relations & Corporate Development and contributes to the development and execution of Western Alliance Bank's corporate strategy and annual Strategic Plan.

Primary objectives include evaluation of competitive landscape and industry trends to shape the company's long-term strategy, goals and growth opportunities alongside executive management. Collaborate and facilitate discussions across the organization with various internal stakeholders to ensure alignment between corporate strategy and specific business areas.

This role will also assist with strategic finance and corporate development initiatives, and exploration of strategic partnerships with outside organizations

What we are looking for:
Responsibilities
Responsible for the tactical execution of the Bank's Strategic Planning and corporate development program, and partners with the Director of Investor Relations & Corporate Development on the development of the Bank's strategic objectives and execution on strategic organic and inorganic initiatives.
In support of WAL's annual Strategic Plan process, conduct critical analyses and research into key economic, industry, product and regional bank competitive trends to support development of Board materials. Facilitate internal discussions with WAL business heads to ensure alignment between corporate strategy and functional areas. Research and evaluate proposed business growth opportunities.
Conduct research into key market, business, and industry trends, and develop insightful discussion materials for senior leaders and the Board of Directors.
Serve as negotiator with third parties for potential strategic or business development partnerships in the FinTech, blockchain and broader digital asset sectors.
Execute research and analysis of M&A opportunities by leading preparation of pro forma analyses of potential organic and inorganic (acquisition, partnerships, etc.) corporate growth opportunities. Analytically evaluate corporate finance alternatives (as requested), such as capital management actions (dividend, share repurchases), and liaise with broader Finance group. Provide guidance to senior leaders on implications of competitive actions of peer banks, drivers of stock price and market valuations, and capital markets and industry trends.

Qualifications
Bachelor's degree in Finance, Business Administration, other relevant fields from a four-year college or university required. Master's degree in business, accounting, finance, or similar is preferred.
6-10 Years Exp.
Intermediate to advanced knowledge of banking sector and financial services, including understanding of bank products, services, and regulations, policies and procedures, with an emphasis in lending practices and underwriting, deposit markets, and various credit markets for commercial and industrial lending, commercial real estate, and various niche markets
Excellent oral, written and interpersonal communication skills. Excellent analytical and organization skills.
Intermediate to advanced knowledge of spreadsheets and data mining/gathering. Intermediate to advanced computer skills including Microsoft office, S&P Market Intelligence, and other financial reporting tools and software.
