Job Title:Strategic & Reputational Risk Manager (Product Due Diligence)

What you'll do:The Strategic & Reputational Risk Manager will be responsible for developing and implementing the Bank's product/service risk evaluation process in addition to acting as the subject-matter-expert over Strategic and Reputational Risk & Control Self-Assessments (RCSAs). The risk evaluation process is key to ensuring appropriate due diligence, risk identification, and risk mitigation, all take place before the product/service launch.
The Strategic & Reputational Risk team is part of the Bank's wider Risk Management department and a rapidly growing team focused on providing expert guidance, credible challenge, and effective oversight of risk-taking activities throughout the Bank. The Risk Management department plays a critical role in helping to inform bank management and the Board of Directors of the risks inherent in its actions and decisions, enterprise impacts, and opportunities to manage risk.
Reporting to the Director of Strategic Risk Initiatives, the ideal candidate will be driven to build and scale, ready to challenge the status quo, able to comprehensively synthesize and communicate information, as well as driven to continuously improve.
What we are looking for:
Responsibilities:
Developing and implementing the Bank's product/service risk evaluation process as part of broader enterprise strategic planning, investment, and governance enhancements.
Coordinating the risk evaluation process on fast-moving and highly visible initiatives, including independent review and challenge of risk evaluator submissions.
Providing Strategic and Reputational Risk submissions to product/service risk evaluations as well as ongoing oversight of relevant RCSAs.
Managing pipeline and governance materials for product/service risk evaluations in coordination with relevant oversight committees.
Enhancing and implementing Reputational Risk management programs such as reviews of committee charters; escalation processes; facilitating education and awareness; and Reputational Risk reporting to senior management and the Board of Directors.
Effectively collaborating with key stakeholders across the Three Lines of Defense to ensure risks are managed effectively, by company policies and related regulatory requirements.
Mentoring, coaching, and developing junior team members - while this position does not have formal direct reports currently, it will oversee junior team members on a project-by-project basis.
Qualifications:
Bachelor's degree in a related field
6+ years of direct or related experience in Risk Management, Internal Audit, Finance, Public Accounting, Business Management, or Management Consulting
Knowledge of general banking operations and governance practices, industry trends, competitive landscape, and corporate strategy
Knowledge of applicable regulatory and legal obligations, rules and regulations, industry standards and practices
Experience with enterprise-wide change management principles and/or complex initiatives
Excellent verbal, written, and interpersonal communication skills
Proven ability to interact with all levels of an organization, especially senior management
Ability to drive multiple agendas simultaneously to achieve continuous outcomes
Strong organizational, multi-tasking, and prioritization skills
Compensation Information:
The salary range for new hires in Southern California is generally $132,883 - $164,149 and in Las Vegas, is generally $118,118 - $145,910. Salary is determined by specific job location.
In addition, the role may be eligible for annual bonus/incentives earned and restricted stock.
