Responsibilities:
Assists the Department in the record keeping procedures and storage of all clinical records in a manner consistent with facility policies and procedures, professional standards, state and federal laws, JCAHO and other regulatory agencies' standards for long-term acute health care facilities in an institution with a patient population ranging in age from 18 years to geriatric experiencing medically complex conditions, medical-surgical conditions requiring rehabilitation and/or wound care needs Assists the Department in organizing and processing the activities of the HIM Department. Assists enforcing policies on confidentiality and release of medical information to ensure proper dissemination. Assists in maintaining a medical record system to ensures complete, timely, accurate, confidential and readily accessible medical records on all patients.
Qualifications
Minimum Qualifications:

Ability to project a professional Image.

Knowledge and experience in the needs of patients ranging in age from 18 to geriatric.

Working knowledge and ability to apply professional standards of practice in job
situations.

Strong organizational and analytical skills; excellent writing and speaking skills.

Working knowledge of personal computer and software applications used in job functions (Word processing, graphics, databases, spreadsheets, etc.
Education and/or Experience:
High School Diploma or equivalent required.
Six (6) months of experience in the medical records department in a hospital or healthcare setting required.
