At Ports America, the Sanctions Specialist - Accounts Receivable / Accounts Payable coordinates customer and vendor set up to include sanctions screening and reporting. Supports Ports America sanctions related policies and procedures internally. The Specialist will facilitate sanction screening process and following course of action for non-compliant accounts.
Essential Duties:
Organize, prioritize, and process the customer and vendor account setup to ensure requirements are met.
Maintains the Sanction screening systems to include the processing for new and existing vendor and customer accounts and monitor policy compliance.
Perform and manage controls related to new or updates to customer/vendor data.
Monitor accounts and communicate discrepancies with the appropriate analyst as necessary to ensure timely resolution.
Evaluate and communicate potential problems to the Sr. AP Manager and Sr. Credit Manager as necessary to facilitate timely resolution.
Accurately report all account status on a weekly and monthly basis, consistent with guidelines established by the Sr. AP Manager and Sr. Credit Manager.
Support Ports America customer and vendor administration policies and procedures as applicable.
Supports the Accounts Payable and Credit Manager with sanction related reporting activities as needed.
Data entry and reporting
Perform other duties as assigned.
Minimum Qualifications:
High School Diploma or GED
1+ year of accounting, or related office experience
Preferred Qualifications:
AP/AR experience
Self-motivated with good organizational skills
Ability to work as part of a team
Analytical and problem-solving skills with a high attention to detail
Strong customer service skills (both verbal and written).
Ability to multi-task and balance competing priorities in a fast paced, dynamic environment.
A flexible workstyle that adapts to changing priorities based on the needs of the business and a willingness to assist team members.
Ability to understand complex business processes and systems
Computer skills including all Microsoft Office suite Intermediate Excel skills are required.
