Job Description
SUMMARY STATEMENT
Under close supervision, provide direct care and homecare services to homebound clients and caregivers supporting WACOG Area Agency on Aging service efforts in La Paz County. Provide professional quality service using a client centered approach, providing housekeeping, attendant, and respite care to Older Adults.
ESSENTIAL DUTIES AND RESPONSIBILITIES
- Provide safe and efficient housekeeping tasks to maintain safe, tidy and sanitary living conditions such as dusting, sweeping and mopping, bathrooms and kitchen cleaning, dishes, change linens, laundry, and making the bed.
- Assist with personal care services to include showering, bathing, toileting, dressing, oral care and shampooing to maintain good personal hygiene of clients.
- Assist clients to and from wheelchair, bed, or other living position; help clients move from room to room around their home as needed.
- Assist clients with eating, and if needed, prepare, serve and/or bring food to client.
- Monitor the physical, mental and emotional condition of clients and report changes or concerns to appropriate WACOG team member(s).
- Create, maintain and submit regular reports such as vehicle and log sheets, client notes/files and emails to carry out the administrative objectives of WACOG
- Prepare and maintain accurate records and reports as they relate to the position while maintaining the confidentiality of client, family and program information.
- Develop professionally by taking educational training or workshops as required.
- Travel within WACOG service area, including overnight stays as needed; additional travel may be required.
- Maintain reliable and predictable attendance; work outside of standard business hours as needed.
- Utilize tact and discretion to maintain confidentiality of information and a positive image of WACOG.
- Perform other duties as necessary to carry out the administrative/ programmatic goals and objectives of WAGOG and/or department.
