Job Description
Charles Schwab & Company, Inc. seeks Manager, Software Development & Engineering in Phoenix, AZ.
Collaborate and lead the delivery of reliability requirements with software engineering and Infrastructure teams. Work with the Product Owners and Enterprise Architects to develop enhancements and new features. Work with peer teams to define the application modernization roadmap and strategy. Build proof of concept application based on Microservices principles for cloud environments. Lead the Java/J2EE application technical design, development, and delivery. Conduct code reviews and manage code quality. Develop tests both from a unit and functional testing perspective. Actively participate in release planning and lead projects, participate in mentoring junior staff. Influence and implement improvements and efficiencies in the technical aspects of the development process and ensure the highest quality software is developed, delivered, and maintained. Be a key leader in the agile process fostering collaboration, prioritization, team accountability and transparency. Build and deploy enterprise applications to Pivotal Cloud Foundry.
Position allows for 100% remote work. Reports to company office in Phoenix, AZ. Subject to Schwab’s internal approach to workplace flexibility.
Job Requirements: Requires Bachelor’s degree in Computer and Information Science, Software Engineering, or related field. Requires 3 years of related experience, which includes some experience in each of the following skills: Java, J2EE, Object Oriented Design, and Development; Spring Framework, Spring Cloud Data Flow, Spring Cloud Stream, Spring Cloud Task, Spring Batch, and Spring Boot Micro services; SQL Server, No SQL DB Mongo Db and S3 Object Storage; Streaming Platform Kafka and RabbitMQ; Pivotal cloud Foundry and Red Hat Linux server; Angular, JSP, HTML, CSS, and TypeScript; and Jenkins, Bamboo, GitHub, and Bitbucket.
