Position Summary:
The Information Technology Network Manager leads and oversees the operations of our network infrastructure The Information Technology Network Manager is responsible for providing technical leadership and project management duties. This position coordinates and manages major college IT projects, implementations, reporting, and meeting requirements. The Information Technology Network Manager maintains the security, reliability, and performance of our IT systems
The work schedule for this position is flexible and may include working evenings and weekends and local travel. This job may have On-call rotation duties.
Successful candidates must be residents of Arizona by their start date.
Duties and Responsibilities:
- Leads and manages the daily operations of the network team, including scheduling, project management, and performance evaluations
- Designs, implements, and maintains LAN, WAN, wireless, and VPN infrastructure to ensure optimal uptime and performance
- Monitors network activity and security, performing regular risk assessments and ensuring compliance with organizational and industry standards
- Administers and maintains telephony platforms including Webex cloud, CUCM, Unity, and related voice technologies
- Oversees the installation, configuration, and troubleshooting of network hardware and software
- Develops and enforces network policies, procedures, and best practices
- Collaborates with internal departments and external vendors to support infrastructure projects and resolve network issues
- Maintains documentation of network architecture, configurations, and maintenance records
- Leads incident response efforts for network-related events and provide root cause analysis
- Provides mentorship and training for junior IT/network staff
- Performs all other duties and responsibilities as assigned or directed by the supervisor
Job Requirements:
- Bachelor's degree in Information Technology or a closely related field of study and
- Three to five years of related experience and
- One to three years of supervisory experience and
- Active CCNA (Cisco Certified Network Associate) certification and
- Active CompTIA Security+ certification
- An equivalent combination of certification, education and experience sufficient to successfully perform the essential duties of the job such as those listed above
- Master's degree in Computer Science or a closely related field of study
- Five plus years of related experience
- Five plus years of supervisory or team lead experience in network administration or IT infrastructure role
- Knowledge of computer and network operating systems
- Knowledge of project management principles, processes, and techniques
- Skill in budget/resource management
- Skill in organization, coordination, and management
- Skill in people leadership and supervision
- Skill in verbal and written communication with the ability to explain technical concepts to audiences with a wide range of technical skills
- Skill in positive, productive, and flexible customer service
- Ability to adapt to a rapidly changing technical environment
- Ability to apply analytical and critical thinking skills with the ability draw conclusions and prepare accurate reports of results
- Proven experience in managing enterprise network environments including switches, routers, firewalls, wireless technologies and telephony systems
- Strong understanding of network security practices, protocols, and compliance frameworks
- Excellent troubleshooting, analytical, and organizational skills
- Experience with network monitoring tools
- Familiarity with cloud networking (eg, AWS, Azure,) and hybrid environments
- Strong communication and leadership capabilities
