Job Description
Position Summary:
Assumes primary responsibility for the safe and effective use of medications in the hospital. Reviews and interprets each medication order to assure it is safe, effective, and economical to the patient. This requires the pharmacist to practice clinical, patient-oriented manner. Compounds and dispenses medications and pharmaceutical supplies according to standard procedure upon written orders of prescriptions from individuals authorized to prescribe in this hospital.
