Hiring Range: $24.79 - $29.74 Per Hour       
Pay Range: $24.79 - $34.70 Per Hour     

 

Range Explanation:

  • Hiring Range is an estimate of where you can receive an offer. The actual salary offer will carefully consider a wide range of factors, including your skills, qualifications, experience, education, licenses, training, and internal equity.

  • Pay Range is the entire compensation range for the position.

The Pima County Attorney's Office (PCAO) is seeking an Adult Diversion Specialist to be a member of our Adult Diversion Program and join our supporting efforts in providing counseling and guidance to defendants in a pre-trial prosecution alternative action program in the criminal justice system.

 

Essential Functions:

Work assignments may vary depending on the department’s need and will be communicated to the applicant or incumbent by the supervisor.

  • Interviews defendants to assess needs and determine appropriate treatment, counseling, community service, or restitution requirements;

  • Develops and implements individualized treatment plans that promote accountability and support rehabilitation through training and skill development;

  • Holds defendants accountable for fulfilling program requirements and monitors their ongoing progress through regular meetings and evaluations;

  • Determines and assigns appropriate community service hours and restitution amounts, ensuring payment to victims is made;

  • Assists defendants in accessing relevant community services to support rehabilitation and compliance;

  • Coordinates with treatment and counseling agencies to ensure effective referrals and service delivery;

  • Develops and maintains productive working relationships with contracted service providers;

  • Ensures completion and accuracy of all required contracts, paperwork, and database records;

  • Evaluates defendants’ overall performance and compliance with program conditions;

  • Conducts training sessions for staff, providers, and relevant community or professional groups;

  • Delivers presentations on the adult diversion program to external agencies and community groups;

  • Participates in internal staff meetings and ongoing professional development training.

 

Minimum Qualifications:

 

Associate’s degree from an accredited college or university with a major in social or behavioral science, criminal justice or closely related field as determined by the department head at the time of recruitment AND one year of experience in criminal justice or a related field as determined by the department head at the time of recruitment.

 

(Relevant experience and/or education from an accredited college or university may be substituted.)

 

OR:

 

One year with Pima County in a Paralegal, Paralegal Trainer, Public Safety Data Technician II, Victim Advocate or related position as determined by the department head at the time of recruitment.

  • Experience with/knowledge of criminal justice system processes in Pima County.

  • Experience with/knowledge of Microsoft Office Suite.

  • Bilingual (English/Spanish).

 

Selection Procedure:

Pima County Human Resources Department reserves the right to admit to the selection process only those candidates that meet the minimum qualifications. All applications will be assessed based on an evaluation of the listed education and experience. Candidates meeting the minimum qualifications may be further evaluated/scored against any advertised Preferred Qualifications. The hiring authority will interview and select the successful candidate from a referral list provided by Human Resources. Additional assessments/testing may be required as part of the selection process.
