This Equipment Repair Technician position offers a great opportunity for you to combine your journey-level mechanical experience and your excellent diagnostic skills in maintaining the Light/Heavy Equipment Fleet for ADOT and the State of Arizona. You’ll stay challenged with a diverse set of job duties and enjoy working in a fast-paced and supportive work environment. Training to help you get your CDL will be provided.
Job Summary:
This position is responsible for performing highly skilled diagnostic inspections and mechanical repairs of electrical, electronic, and/or hydraulic systems on a wide variety of automotive/heavy construction equipment.
Job Duties:
Diagnose and repair gasoline and diesel-powered internal combustion engines. Diagnose operational, mechanical, hydraulic, & electrical malfunctions of Equipment.
Inspect a wide variety of automotive and/or heavy construction equipment under safety/scheduled preventative maintenance checklists.
Perform preventive maintenance on equipment, engines, electrical systems, hydraulic systems, tractors, welding machines, paint stripers, arrow boards, paint pumps and guns, rollers, trenchers, and weed sprayers.
Operate vehicles and/or equipment requiring a commercial driver’s license. Road test equipment after repair and maintenance has been completed, and daily records have been kept.
Fabricate and modify equipment, drive shop trucks to various job sites to perform repairs.
Other duties are assigned as related to the position.
