Job Description
Summary
Under general supervision, performs skilled clerical accounting work of moderate difficulty in bookkeeping, data entry and quality control to ensure all payments and purchases are authorized, budgeted and processed according to prescribed guidelines, policies and procedures; performs related work as assigned.
Promotion to Superior Court Account Docket Clerk II
A Superior Court Docket Clerk I who demonstrates proficiency in their duties may be promoted to the position of Superior Court Docket Clerk II after one (1) year of service.
Essential Job Functions

Performs bookkeeping functions in assigned area of Finance
Verifies vouchers, demands, etc. of other Account Clerks.
Assists Accounting Supervisor on special or research projects.
Reviews and balances all assigned funds.
Reviews source documents; codes and classifies information.
Prepares cash summaries and account reports.
Audits and inputs invoices and contracts.
Processes payments for Probation, Restitution TIP/ FARE
Provides technical support to external new and revised policies and procedures.
Responds to requests for information.
Receives payments by cash, check and debit/credit card.
Answers questions from general public and parties involved in court proceedings via phone, mail, email and in person.
Verifies transactions and reconciles discrepancies
May handle and account for case in various amounts
May prepare and perform check run
Other duties as assigned
Knowledge and Skills
Knowledge of bookkeeping principles, practices and methods and governmental fiscal coding systems and procedures.
Knowledge of automated accounting systems, including hardware and software, and data entry, spreadsheets and verification procedures.
Knowledge of research principles, practices and methods.
Knowledge of governmental accounting principles and practices
Knowledge of using computerized budget / financial tracking and reporting programs and other software programs related to area of work.
Knowledge of performing and verifying mathematical computations
Skill in operating common office equipment including computers and associated accounting and office software.
Skill in rapidly calculating and verifying arithmetic computations.
Skill in effectively communicating verbally and in writing.
Skill in establishing and maintaining effective working relationships with employees, other agencies and the public.
Skill in working with auditors, auditees and other outside regulatory groups.
Skill in design and effective use of technology for financial management, analysis and reporting
Skill in file maintenance procedures and practices
Skill in data entry and verification procedures
Skill in use of modern office equipment
Ability to meet deadlines
Ability to establish credibility and maintain effective working relationships with all levels of staff, other agencies and the public
Ability to establish and maintain computerized filing systems
Ability to prepare and maintain financial records
Ability to format and generate revenue, spending and costing reports

Desirable Qualifications
High School Diploma or G.E.D.; AND one year of college level courses in finance, accounting, business administration or related field; AND three years’ experience in financial support work such as bookkeeping or accounting clerk work; OR equivalent combination of education, training and experience which demonstrates the ability to perform the duties of the position.
Work Environment
The work environment is associated with an office. The work area is adequately lighted, heated or cooled and ventilated.
Physical Requirements
May be required to lift 25-30 pounds from floor to waist, waist to shoulder or shoulder to overhead, carry 25-30pounds a distance of 100 feet, or push/pull 25-150 pounds a distance of 300 feet. The work also requires the ability to finger, feel, grasp, handle, reach, perform repetitive motion, kneel, lift, hear, speak, stand, walk, and demonstrate mental and visual acuity.
