Summary

Under the supervision of the Activities Director & Operations Manager the Head Cook is responsible for performing any combination of duties necessary to facilitate an extremely high-quality food service experience for guests.   The Head Cook is also responsible for maintaining the Kitchen in a safe manner, including adherence to food safety guidelines.  Responsibilities also include supervision of Restaurant Staff. 

 

Essential Duties and Responsibilities:

  • Assure that all food orders are prepared in a high-quality manner using established food safety guidelines.
  • Assure the Kitchen, including individual work stations are maintained in a clean, safe and orderly manner.
  • Make work assignments and direct staff as appropriate.
  • Watch for possible safety issues such as wet floors, open oven doors, hot items, etc. Correct safety issues immediately.
  • Work with Food and Beverage Manager – Activities Director to maintain established inventory levels necessary for food service.
  • Work with Food and Beverage Manager – Activities Director to schedule, plan menus, order supplies for the Restaurant, Banquets and other special food events.
  • Assist with training of employees including safe equipment operation and proper maintenance.
  • Other duties as assigned.
