The Pima County Attorney's Office is seeking an innovative, dynamic leader to direct its Victim Services Program. The Victim Services Director is responsible for overseeing and managing the victim assistance program, including Victim Notification and Victim Compensation within the County Attorney’s Office. This position provides critical support to victims of crime, ensuring they receive necessary resources, advocacy, and guidance throughout the legal process. The director will collaborate with law enforcement, community organizations, and other stakeholders to enhance the services offered to victims and promote their rights.
The Victim Services Director is under general supervision of Chief Deputy County Attorney and is part of the Senior Leadership Team under the County Attorney.
This classification is in the unclassified service and is exempt from the Pima County Merit System Rules.

Develops, implements, and oversees victim assistance programs and services;

Monitors program effectiveness and makes adjustments as needed;

Serves as an advocate for victims, ensuring their rights are upheld throughout the legal process;

Provides emotional support and resources to victims and their families;

Builds and maintains partnerships with law enforcement, social services, and community organizations;

Facilitates communication between victims and the legal system;

Conducts community outreach and awareness programs to inform the public about victim services and rights;

Develops educational materials for victims regarding their rights and available resources;

Assists in creating and implementing policies and procedures that support victims and enhance service delivery;

Stays informed about changes in legislation and best practices related to victim services;

Trains and supervises victim advocates and support staff;

Provides ongoing professional development opportunities for team members;
-
Identifies and applies for funding opportunities to support victim services;
-
Manages budgets and ensures compliance with grant requirements;
-
Maintains accurate records of victim interactions and program outcomes;

Prepares reports for stakeholders and funding agencies as needed.
Minimum Qualifications:
Bachelor's degree from an accredited college or university with a major in criminal justice, psychology, or a closely related field (Master’s degree preferred), as determined by the department head, AND four (4) years of progressively responsible program administration experience, INCLUDING two (2) years in a management experience.
(Relevant experience and/or education from an accredited college or university may be substituted.)
OR:
Four (4) years of experience with Pima County in a victim service-related position, including two (2) years of management experience.

Pima County Human Resources Department reserves the right to admit to the selection process only those candidates that meet the minimum qualifications. All applications will be assessed based on an evaluation of the listed education and experience. Candidates meeting the minimum qualifications may be further evaluated/scored against any advertised Preferred Qualifications. The hiring authority will interview and select the successful candidate from a referral list provided by Human Resources. Additional assessments/testing may be required as part of the selection process.
