A client of Insight Global is looking for a Secret M&P Engineer to help with the supporting of day-to-day production operations for composite manufacturing. This role is focused on hands-on problem-solving, process improvement, and technical support in a fast-paced environment. You’ll collaborate with cross-functional teams and contribute to the qualification of equipment and processes, ensuring high standards for quality and compliance.
This role will be fully onsite in Mesa, AZ. The contract is slated to last 12 months, with the likelihood of extension / conversion. If you are passionate about composites, polymer chemistry, failure analysis, or production problem-solving, this is the role for you!
Key Responsibilities:
- Daily Production Support: ? Review composite curing processes to ensure specifications are met ? Interpret and address requirements from manufacturing engineering ? Spend time on the production floor to observe and learn how builds are executed within process requirements ? Solve technical challenges during builds, including root cause analysis and investigation of issues ? Coordinate with laboratory teams for material testing to determine optimal solutions ? Tackle a variety of problems-some recurring, some unique to each day ? Support non-recurring qualification efforts for equipment, utilities, and processes as needed, depending on onboarding timing ? Participate in qualifying composite manufacturing equipment and utilities (e.g., temperature/humidity-controlled rooms) to ensure factory processes meet quality specifications - Technical & Process Support: ? Apply principles of chemistry, physics, and material science to develop and qualify composite materials and processing methods ? Provide technical evaluation and support for composite part fabrication ? Create and execute test plans, write reports, and contribute to specifications for materials, tools, and processes ? Guide material testing in the Materials & Processes Laboratory ? Integrate new technologies and promote standardization across product lines ? Ensure regulatory and contractual compliance, incorporating EHS, LEAN, and Quality principles - Collaboration: ? Work closely with Design Engineering, Production Engineering, Manufacturing, Quality Engineering, and Procurement ? Travel to suppliers or other sites as needed for reviews, meetings, or training ? Participate in team discussions and planning sessions for upcoming qualification effortsPay Rate Range: $40-$45 (Level 1 – increasing from there)
Exact compensation may vary based on several factors, including skills, experience, and education. Benefit packages for this role will start on the 31st day of employment and include medical, dental, and vision insurance, as well as HSA, FSA, and DCFSA account options, and 401k retirement account access with employer matching. Skills and Requirements
Bachelor of Science degree in engineering, engineering technology, chemistry, physics, mathematics, data science, or computer science
2+ years’ experience (Level 2) or 5+ years’ experience (Level 3) in a relevant field, or equivalent advanced degree
Willingness to work 2nd shift
Ability to work independently with minimal supervision after initial training 1+ years working with composites, elastomers, and associated processing techniques
Hands-on lab experience with polymer chemistry analytical techniques
- Familiarity with materials such as epoxy, cyanate ester, bismaleimide, urethane, polyimide, reinforcements, and adhesivesExperience with composite failure modes and failure analysis
- Experience in technical specifications, reports, and test plansComfortable reading engineering drawings and using Microsoft Office
Experience in creating and delivering technical presentations and briefings
