Job Description
Overview
The Buyer is responsible for the procurement process of supplies to support the daily operations of NAH departments by processing assigned department requisition requests. This position works closely with all NAH department requestors and is focused on efficiency, cost reduction and control, inventory reduction, and supply conversions. Processes supply returns and equipment repairs. Ensures contract compliance for all purchases. Provides operational support and intelligence to NAH Managers and Directors as requested in matters of supply expense.
This position's work location is on-site only.
Responsibilities
Cost Containment and Management
* Communicates with internal and external customers, representatives, suppliers, and other NAH departments.
* Researches data for pricing, order dates, receiving, spend, and usage inquiries in the ERP system.
* Obtains quotes for supplies/services from suppliers and issues Purchase Orders accordingly.
* Obtains RMAs from suppliers for product returns and enters and tracks returns in the ERP system.
* Works closely with Suppliers, the Contracts team, and Accounts Payable to solve invoice discrepancies.
Data Entry and Analysis
* Completes accurate and timely data entry of purchase orders.
* Reviews open Purchase Orders and contacts suppliers to ensure supplies are shipped on promised dates and expedites orders as needed.
* Keeps internal departments apprised of supplier issues that may affect delivery dates.
* Expedites and coordinates critical deliveries and emergency requisitions.
* Acts as the liaison between suppliers and internal departments regarding requisitions.
* Tracks and communicates Purchase Order status.
* Coordinates with Receiving to solve all discrepancies.
* Maintains reorder point levels for inventory items.
* Ensures all Purchase Orders are executed on time with appropriate acknowledgement responses from suppliers.
* Manipulates large data files in Excel and uses functionality such as sorting, standard formulas, and pivot tables.
Compliance/Safety
* Responsible for reporting any safety-related incident in a timely fashion through the Midas/RDE tool; attends all safety-related training programs; safely performs work; monitors work environment for possible safety issues, and ensures others are also safely performing work.
* Stays current and complies with state and federal regulations/statutes and company policies that impact the employee's area of responsibility.
* If required for the position, ensures all certifications and/or licenses are up-to-date and valid before expiration dates.
* Completes all company mandatory modules and required job-specific training in the specified time frame.
