Job Description
Validate and characterize new processes, equipment, and fixtures for production implementation. Will focus on damage-free engineering methodologies. Create detailed manufacturing
instructions to document quality-critical characteristics and contribute to the design of production and inspection workstations in alignment with quality standards. Work with the Quality Control Management to work on reducing and eliminating squeaks & rattle defects and contribute to the development and maintenance of quality strategies. Flawlessly execute variability reduction engineering assignments and manage quality metrics reporting and publishing for all quality metrics. Present engineering data and improvement plans to factory leadership and create and manage Control Plans and auditing strategies based on risk assessments and data from the factory and field. Perform completed vehicle audits and partner with issue owners on engineering improvements. Contribute to Design for Manufacture and Assembly (“DFMA”) engineering projects for new and existing products, facilitate supplier quality efforts, and partner with suppliers on corrective actions for engineering issues in accordance with company objectives.
Minimum Requirements:
- Education and Experience: Bachelor’s degree or foreign equivalent degree in Industrial Engineering, Systems Engineering, Mechanical Engineering or a closely related field and Five (5) years of progressive, post-baccalaureate experience in vehicle quality engineering in automotive manufacturing.
- Special Skills: This position also requires education or experience in: Root cause analysis; Six Sigma; 4Poster equipment for squeaks & rattle detection; AutoCAD; Catia; Simulation software; and MES Quality Systems.
