Job Description

NATURE OF WORK  Under limited supervision of the Justice of the Peace, performs professional supervisory and administrative support of moderate difficulty, including the development and administration of the department’s budget, the management of case flow, record keeping, tracking, and collections. Nature of Work Oversees the daily operations of the Justice Court, evaluates and analyzes court processes and provides training to all staff Manages and directs accounting, procurement, business processes, and court collections; manages, trains, inspects, supervises and evaluates staff; participates in interviewing and selecting new employees; responsible for time card approval on Oracle, development, and disciplining of assigned staff; maintains court records including dockets, creates and open case files, coordination of scheduling of cases, files original complaint and originals of other papers under the direction of the Justice of the Peace; assists the Justice Court Administrator with the preparation and coordination of the operational and capital budget; manages and directs the preparation of determinations of bond forfeiture, bond release, orders of warrants and license suspensions; accepts and receipts payments of fines, bonds and other monies; oversees the financial activities, receipts summary, bank reconciliations, monies and records; develops and reviews office policies and procedures for all case; provides guidance and direction in legislative updates; provides leadership, direction, guidance to staff through appropriate delegation, evaluation and work supervision; manages the collections processing and recording of monies received through the court, and prepares revenue statistics for reporting to Finance, Superior Court and the Arizona Supreme Court on a monthly and yearly basis; researches rules, statutes and guidelines applicable to the Justice Court and ensures maximum compliance by all staff and departments; Responsible for verifying documents and records submitted to the court for filing, checking for accuracy and completeness. Prepares, distributes, and dockets hearing notices to defendants and calendars hearings in the case management system; receives, reviews, investigates and responds to customer inquiries and complaints; may represent the Justice Court on administrative and public relations matters; resolves complex problems encountered in performance of work assignments; serves as primary point of contact and liaison with other departments/offices, customers and individuals on a range of specified issues; maintains absolute confidentiality of cases and victim information; regular and reliable attendance is required; performs other related duties assigned.
