ABOUT THE ROLE
This position is based at the Tucson office and may require travel to the Hermosa Project site, near Patagonia, Arizona.
South32 seeks to hire a metallurgical or chemical engineering intern to support the development of the Hermosa Taylor Project. The role will be within the technical services team supporting the processing scope. The project is currently undertaking detailed engineering design in preparation for the construction of the concentrator.
Other key responsibilities include, but aren’t limited to:
• Assist in design and analysis of metallurgical engineering projects.
• Review engineering documentation for accuracy and completeness.• Ensure that vendor data for mechanical equipment aligns with the Process Design Criteria, Basis of Design, mass and energy balance.
• Provide field support for processing plant construction.
• Performance of sample preparations and metallurgical testwork.
• Review of Processing Plant design to ensure safety, operability, and maintainability.
• Participation in South32 health and safety programs.
