ABOUT THE ROLE
The Occupational Health and Industrial Hygiene Intern will support workforce health, exposure mitigation, and associated risk management systems by contributing to the development, implementation, and continuous improvement of programs that promote a safe and healthy work environment. This role will be based at the mine location in Patagonia, Az.
Other key responsibilities include, but aren’t limited to:
- Perform routine care, maintenance, and calibration of exposure monitoring equipment to ensure accurate and reliable data collection.
- Conduct occupational exposure monitoring activities using scientifically established industrial hygiene methods.
- South32 procedures, and regulatory requirements.
- Review and analyze using appropriate mathematical and statistical methods exposure monitoring data to assess risks, identify trends, and support corrective actions.
- Prepare clear and concise reports summarizing exposure monitoring results and recommendations for risk mitigation.
- Collaborate with health and safety professionals to support continuous improvement of occupational health and industrial hygiene programs.
