Job Description
POSITION SUMMARY: The main function of this position is answering phones, taking requests for services, greet and check in clients, and schedule Behavioral Health Medical Practitioner (BHMP) and clinician appointments.
PRINCIPAL DUTIES/RESPONSIBILITIES:
- Answers phones, route calls, take messages.
- Greets and check in clients for appointments.
- Enters service request details into the Electronic Health Record (EHR)/computer system(s), ensuring accurate and complete data entry.
- Verify insurance and eligibility coverage
- Schedules appointments for the BHMP and clinical staff.
- Screens and provides other service programs when required.
- Collects co-payments and payments.
- Process medication refills by verifying client information and prescription details within the EMR and communicating concerns with the BHMPs.
- Provides customer service to internal and external customers and stakeholders.
- Participates in the Performance Improvement Processes in the Clinic.
- The employee must work well under pressure meeting multiple and sometimes conflicting deadlines. The employee shall, at all times, demonstrate cooperative behavior with colleagues and supervisors.
- Able to effectively de-escalate clients using techniques as trained and outlined in approved crisis intervention models.
- Performs other duties as assigned.
