As the City’s newest Water Services Digital Asset Specialist in Electrical, you will actively support and uphold the City’s stated mission and values. Working as part of the SCADA team, you will assist SCADA analysts and maintenance teams in troubleshooting electrical systems in wastewater and water treatment facilities, water production sites, and other Water Services facilities. This position will assist in performing skilled-level electrical work, including the installation, alteration, maintenance, and repair of electrical systems, equipment, and fixtures, in accordance with the standard practices of the electrical trade. - Provides excellent customer service to both internal and external customers
- Documents work order requests and resolutions
- Maintains confidentiality and security regarding data access
- Keeps pace with Water Services SCADA, Electrical, and IT trends through training, periodicals, and experimentation in a test environment
- Attends seminars, trainings, and educational opportunities to keep updated on modern procedures, industry standards, and equipment, including both hardware and software, and electrical
- Provides knowledge and assistance to engineers, plant operators, and contractors

SCADA Electrical
- Assists in the development, maintenance, and implementation of electrical and SCADA standards for the city’s Flagstaff Water Services division
- Provides input on equipment selection, purchasing, and commissioning for motors, pumps, variable frequency drives, soft-starts, and other industrial systems to ensure efficiency and SCADA compatibility
- Coordinates and verifies the installation of SCADA-compatible equipment and supports the development of system-wide efficiency standards
- Works with contractors and internal staff on the replacement and upgrade of electrical equipment and systems to improve performance and efficiency
- Supports Water Production, Wastewater, and Stormwater teams with SCADA-related upgrades, operations, and maintenance activities
- Assists with procurement, inventory, and installation of essential parts to reduce downtime and maintain SCADA system reliability
- Participates in SCADA network upgrades and the installation of sensors, conduit, and control hardware
- Maintains licensing and updates software for SCADA controllers, including Lake Mary Sixnet systems
- Documents, restores, and modifies SCADA programming and electrical component configurations
- Performs preventive and corrective maintenance on electrical motors, motor control centers, breakers, and monitoring equipment using proper safety procedures
- Installs and maintains uninterruptible power supplies and other monitoring equipment using professional standards
- Conducts electrical inspections and supports safe operation through grounding maintenance and proper gear selection
- Assists in the installation and maintenance of alarms and other safety systems for personnel protection.
- Operates electrical equipment and works with low, medium, and high-voltage AC/DC systems
- Develops and maintains documentation including standard operating procedures, service records, and operational reports
- Supports scheduling, planning, and prioritization of large-scale projects and daily operational tasks using CMMS
- Coordinates training efforts and safety programs to ensure workforce readiness and compliance
- Researches, estimates, and procures materials and equipment to support operational goals
