Job Description
Alvarado Trucking, LLC is seeking to fill Six (6) Truck Driver (53-3032.00 â Heavy and Tractor-Trailer Truck Drivers) temporary, full-time Peakload positions for April 1, 2026 â December 18, 2026. Worksite: 12595 S. Somerton Avenue, Yuma, AZ, 85365 and multiple cities around Imperial County in CA, and Yuma County and Maricopa County in AZ.
Job Duties: Transport materials, such as alfalfa and hay bales, cotton rolls, and other materials, from fields over land to warehouses and processing plants or distribution centers; verify loads for accuracy; and delivery loads as instructed. Load and ensure that cargo is properly secured in the flat bed to prevent damage, injury or loss. Weigh truck before and after delivery and keep accurate records of heavy weights and light weights. Untie and unload cargo upon arrival at the warehouse or processing plant. Follow the route as directed by dispatcher, maintain contact with dispatcher, and meet delivery schedules. Complete and verify paperwork for accuracy. Obtain signatures to confirm and complete deliveries. Confirm that the contents of each shipment load matches the manifest documents. Truck drivers are responsible for basic vehicle maintenance, in the pre- and post-trip. Truck drivers must comply with all safe work practices, policies, and processes at all times. Truck Drivers will pull a vehicle with a Gross Vehicle Weight (GVW) of approximately 26,000 lbs, to a maximum GVW of 80,000 lbs. Accordingly, a valid commercial driverâs license with double trailer endorsement is required. Moreover, the commercial driverâs license should be of an appropriate class and have an appropriate endorsement, if required, that will allow the driver to pull a double trailer and a vehicle exceeding 26,000 lbs. Truck drivers must comply with all safe work practices, policies, and processes at all times.
Requirements:Â A valid commercial driverâs license (CDL) with double trailer endorsement is required. The CDL should be of an appropriate class and have an appropriate endorsement, if required, that would allow the driver to pull a double trainer and a vehicle exceeding 26,000 lbs. Similar foreign CDL accepted. Twelve (12) months of experience as a truck driver is required
Special Requirements: Must be 18 years old. Weekends, holidays, and overtime work possible. Must comply with applicable requirements of the United States Department of Transportation regulations. Workers must have proficiency in English to communicate, read, and comprehend traffic signage and interact with roadway officials. All workers must be able to read and speak English at a level sufficient to comply with U.S. Commercial Driverâs License (CDL) requirements and to ensure safe performance of their job duties. As a condition of employment, all workers must complete drug and alcohol testing prior to beginning work. In addition, random testing is conducted throughout the season in order to maintain a safe and compliant workplace, consistent with company policy and applicable workplace safety standards.
Terms and conditions of employment: $27.04/hr, 35 hours/week, Overtime available at $40.56/hour. Mon-Fri, 5:00AM-3:00PM. Employees will be paid biweekly on Friday. Raises and/or bonuses may be offered based on individual factors including work performance, skill, and tenure. Employer will use a single workweek as its standard for computing wages due. On job training available. Workers will be provided, without charge or deposit charge, all tools, supplies, and equipment required to perform the duties assigned. Truck Drivers will deliver goods from the area around Imperial County in CA, and Yuma County and Maricopa County in AZ.
Other benefits provided and cost: The employer will make all deductions from workerâs paycheck required by law. The employer does not envision other work force â wide payroll deductions. Employer will assist workers in securing board, lodging, or other facilities. Employer has optional housing available for workers, to be paid separately and are not payroll deducted. Truck provided for driversâ use.
Transportation, Subsistence, and Fees: The employer will reimburse an H-2B worker in the first work week for all visa, visa processing, border crossing, and other related fees, including those mandated by the government, incurred by the H-2B worker. From the place from which the worker has come to work, whether in the US or abroad, to the place of employment, if the worker completes 50% of the work contract period, the employer will provide advance payment for transportation and subsistence (including meals and to the extent necessary, lodging) from the place of recruitment to the place of employment. Upon completion of the work contract or where the worker is dismissed earlier, employer will provide or pay for workerâs reasonable costs of return transportation and subsistence back home or to the place the worker originally departed to work, except where the worker will not return due to subsequent employment with another employer. The amount of transportation payment or reimbursement will be equal to the most economical and reasonable common carrier for the distances involved. Daily subsistence will be provided at a rate of $16.28 per day during travel to a maximum of $68.00 per day with receipts
Three-fourths guarantee: The employer guarantees to offer work for hours equal to at least three fourths of the workdays in each 12-week period of the total employment period
Tools, protective clothing or other items: The employer will provide workers at no charge all tools, supplies, & equipment required to perform the job.
