If you fit that description, we invite you to apply to our Licensed Practical Nurse (LPN) positions!  This position carries out all geriatric nursing care, treatment, and services in a professional and prescribed manner within the scope of license and provides a safe, therapeutic, and hygienic environment while overseeing the duties of subordinate staff.
The number of LPN and CNA positions assigned to work on a unit varies according to the shift.
The LPN learns, implements, and monitors Arizona Management System (AMS) methods, uses AMS concepts and tools for problem solving, continuous work/process improvements, and efficiencies, and incorporates a cultural focus on Veteran/Member-centered care in the performance of job duties.
Job Duties:
As a Licensed Practical Nurse, you will:
Administer medication and perform treatments on an assigned unit as ordered by the physician and within the scope of license. (Medications may be in a variety of forms, including oral, enteral, parenteral, suppository, etc., and treatments may include sterile and aseptic wound cleaning and dressing, postural drainage and percussion, tracheostomy, gastrostomy and jejunostomy care, and catheter care.)
Observe and report the effectiveness of medications and treatments
Ensure an adequate amount of supplies and medication is available
Receive and deliver a variety of information regarding the resident's medical, social, functional, and other needs
Participate in the receiving and giving shift reports
Communicate with residents, family, and staff as necessary to ensure the resident receives appropriate care from the interdisciplinary team
Complete the initial admission nursing assessment tool on a newly admitted resident
Assist with the development of the Minimum Data Set (MDS) assessments, ongoing quarterly reviews, and care plans
Maintain appropriate clinical and administrative documentation regarding diagnosis, observations, treatment, and summary of resident progress.
Participate in our Quality Assurance and Performance Improvement (QAPI) program
Attend and participate in staff meetings
