Job Description
• Performs a variety of routine and non-routine repairs and maintenance including but not limited to carpentry, painting, plumbing, electrical and general work.
• Identifies and reports facility maintenance problems requiring additional repair in a proactive fashion.
• Watering, mowing, weed removal, tree and shrub trimming, general landscape maintenance and turf maintenance as needed.
• Safe application of herbicides, pesticides, and fungicides; maintain records of fertilizers and chemicals used.
• Performs semi-skilled and skilled maintenance and manual labor work.
• Assists in the construction, maintenance and repair of City facilities and grounds.
• Picks up and delivers materials as directed.
• Operates mowers, tractors, trenchers, rototillers, vehicles, and equipment safely.
• Utilizes and maintains safe use of hand and power tools according to best practices and manufacturer recommendations.
• Completes daily reports and logs either in facilities software or paper copies as required.
• Assists in maintaining an inventory of equipment and supplies.
• Oversees the activities of temporary labor and contractors as required.
• May assist in training new employees.
• Performs other duties as assigned or required.
