Job Description

Under limited supervision performs highly responsible administrative, managerial, and supervisory responsibilities in the operation and activities of one or more specialized work units and/or programs. Applies policies and procedures governing program goals and objectives. Assesses and reports on effectiveness of program(s)/project(s).
Nature of Work Supervises and oversees the day-to-day functions, operation, and staff of one or more specialized work units and/or programs; evaluates effectiveness of work unit and/or program and ability to meet expected goals and objectives; analyzes operations and makes recommendations to increase efficiency; determines if work unit and/or program operates within established policies and procedures; provides leadership and direction in support of work unit and/or program of assignment; identifies and recommends needs for staffing, volunteers, equipment, supplies, materials, and other items needed to successfully function; analyzes and reviews operations; recommends and implements changes to enhance effectiveness of operation; applies, coordinates and executes program and/or project policies; manages staff, volunteers, and others assigned to support functions and purposes of work unit and/or program; participates in and/or provides recommendations associated with all aspects of work unit and/or program personnel operations; participates in selection, training, development, evaluation, counseling and disciplining of staff assigned to the work unit and/or program; analyzes work unit and/or program activities to provide relevant data; develops and presents reports outlining activities of work unit and/or program; makes presentations to public and private organizations; represents the program in public and court-related arenas; identifies budget needs and monitors expenditures; promotes program and program activities within the community; directs and supervises staff assigned and volunteers if appropriate, associated with the work unit and/or program; performs related duties as required or assigned.
