Job Description
WE'RE GROWING! JOIN US! (A People-First Company!) A Security Command Center (SCC) Operator/Analyst monitors, detects, and responds to physical and technical security threats by managing surveillance (CCTV), access control, and alarm systes. They act as the central communication hub, coordinating emergency responses, dispatching personnel, and documenting incidents to protect assets, personnel, and facilities.
Key Responsibilities
- Surveillance & Monitoring: Continuously monitor CCTV, alarm systems (fire, panic, intrusion), and access control systems.
- Incident Response: Identify, analyze, and initiate immediate response to security breaches, emergencies, or safety incidents.
- Dispatching: Communicate with and dispatch security officers, emergency responders, or law enforcement to incident locations.
- Reporting & Documentation: Maintain detailed, accurate logs of all activities, including daily reports, incident reports, and visitor logs.
- Communication Hub: Answer incoming phone calls, radio calls, and emails, handling them professionally.
- System Maintenance: Monitor and troubleshoot security technology to ensure functionality.
Common Qualifications & Skills Education: High School Diploma or equivalent; some positions prefer a degree in criminal justice or a related field.
- Experience: Previous experience in security, dispatching, or a command center environment (typically 1-3 years).
- Technical Skills: Proficiency in security software (VMS, access control), MS Office suite, and radio communication protocols.
- Soft Skills: Strong communication, calm under pressure, critical thinking, and the ability to multitask in high-stress situations.
- Requirements: Must pass background checks and, in some cases, maintain a security clearance.
- Work Environment
- Typically a 24/7, high-paced control room setting (SOC/GSOC) requiring shift work, including nights, weekends, and holidays.
- Requires long periods of sitting and focused attention to screens.
