Job Description
About Us- The Elections Department is the operating arm of the Board of Supervisors fulfilling the responsibilities of election administration. Mohave County has the fifth largest number of registered voters in the State of Arizona, and the population of the county is growing with the rest of Arizona. The Mohave County area serves over 170,000 registered voters encompassing two congressional and two legislative districts.
- Non-benefits eligible position.
- Must pass drug screen post offer.
- All new hires must pass a background check.
- Must be willing to work overtime when needed.
- Ability to work long hours and weekends when needed.
- Varying shifts and days off based on other staff schedules.
- The Elections Labor Trades Temporary position is intended to end on December 31, 2026.
- Per: ARS 16-411 Mohave County Elections Department employees must be registered to vote in the state of Arizona.
- Election equipment preparation; election supply preparation; transportation of election materials; performing test of electronic voting equipment, election day support anywhere in Mohave County, possibly including the Arizona Strip; processing early ballots and clerical functions assigned by permanent Elections Department staff members.
Essential Job Functions
- Performs or assists with various simple to complex labor and/or trades work assignments to maintain efficient operations of the department using independent judgment or under general direction of a higher-level authority.
- Work may involve driving as a courier, custodial work, building maintenance, etc.
- Communicates and acts in a professional manner with the public, co-workers, and work contacts.
- Performs related work as required and special projects as requested.
- May provide customer service to the public, departments and/or other agencies either by phone, email, or in person in response to questions, provide requested information, or direct queries to appropriate individuals and/or departments.
