Role Overview
The Medical Assistant will support healthcare professionals by performing clinical and administrative duties under direct supervision. This role is essential for ensuring quality patient care, maintaining hygiene standards, and facilitating efficient office workflows.
Key Responsibilities
- Clinical Tasks: Record medical histories and vital signs (weight, blood pressure, pulse, and temperature).
- Patient Preparation: Prepare, clean, and sterilize exam rooms and instruments.
- Procedures: Assist physicians with medical procedures, injections, and wound care.
- Lab Work: Collect and process laboratory specimens, including blood draws and urinalysis.
- Administration: Schedule appointments, manage medical records, handle insurance forms, and manage phone inquiries.
- Patient Communication: Instruct patients regarding medications, procedures, and post-visit care.
Qualifications & Skills
- Certification: High school diploma and completion of an accredited medical assistant program (CMA or RMA certification preferred).
- Technical Skills: Proficiency in examination techniques, laboratory procedures, and Electronic Health Record (EHR) software.
- Soft Skills: Strong communication, organizational ability, and attention to detail.
- Physical Requirements: Ability to stand or walk for long periods and lift or push 25–50 lbs.
