Summary/Objective: The Deburring Technician is responsible for ensuring that all machined parts are burr-free and meet quality standards by operating various hand/air tools and buffers. This role plays a crucial part in maintaining safety and quality standards, proper documentation, and the upkeep of equipment and accessories to support the achievement of Masterbilt’s business goals and objectives.
Essential Functions:
- Blueprint and Documentation Reading: Accurately read and interpret part blueprints and documentation to meet part quality criteria.
- Safety Compliance: Maintain safe operations by strictly adhering to safety procedures and regulations.
- Documentation: Document actions meticulously by completing production and quality logs.
- Continuous Learning: Stay updated with industry advancements by participating in educational opportunities and reading technical publications.
Competencies/Qualifications:
- Tool Proficiency: Skilled in operating sandblasters, roto tools, and parts cleaners using correct procedures.
- Chamfering and Drilling: Capable of chamfering and re-drilling parts efficiently.
- Visual Inspection: Expert in visually identifying burrs and swells on intricate parts.
- Knifing and Buffing: Proficient in performing knifing and buffing on detailed components.
- Paperwork Accuracy: Understand and accurately complete all job-related paperwork.
- Deburring Methods: Knowledgeable in all deburring methods to deburr intricate parts independently.
- Part Repair: Ability to repair parts as needed to ensure quality.
- Measurement Skills: Proficient in using micrometers, calipers, and simple gaging tools.
- Blueprint Reading: Basic blueprint reading skills to ensure accurate part processing.
Physical Demands:
- This position requires standing, walking, bending, reaching, and lifting up to 30 lbs regularly.
- Proficient use of hands for various tasks.
