Job Description

Position Summary 

The Interface Manager is responsible for planning, coordinating, and managing all technical, contractual, and organizational interfaces between the multiple prime contractors and the Owner to ensure the successful integration, installation, commissioning, and operation of the pumped storage facility. The role is critical to ensure seamless integration between:

  • Main Civil Works Contractor
  • Electromechanical Contractor (known as OEM Original Electromechanical Manufacturer)
  • Step-Up Transformer (GSU) supply and integration scope
  • Gas Insulated Switchgear (GIS) supplied as Owner-Furnished Equipment and installed by the Civil Contractor
  • Owner-Furnished Equipment (OFE) and Work by Others
  • Transmission system, grid operator, and commissioning entities

The Interface Manager ensures that all physical, functional, schedule, and contractual interfaces are clearly defined during the Conformance and Alignment Phase (1st August 2026 to 30 September 2027) and managed, and controlled throughout engineering, procurement, construction, commissioning, and handover phases (1st October 2027 to 31st December 2035). 

 

Required Qualifications and Experience 

Bachelor’s or master’s degree in engineering:

  • Mechanical Engineering
  • Electrical Engineering
  • Civil Engineering
  • or equivalent

Minimum:

  • 10–15 years of experience in large infrastructure or power projects with Electromechanical integration
  • Minimum 5 years in interface management roles
  • Experience with hydropower or pumped storage projects preferred

Strong experience with:

  • Multi-contract EPC or multi-prime contracting environments
  • Pump/Turbine and  High voltage electrical systems and substations
  • Civil-electromechanical integration

Preferred experience with projects exceeding 1000 MW. 

 

Required Competencies

Technical Competencies

  • Understanding of hydropower systems integration
  • Understanding of high voltage substations and GIS systems
  • Knowledge of mechanical and electrical equipment installation
  • Understanding of EPC contracting models
  • Knowledge of commissioning processes

  • Strong coordination and leadership skills
  • Excellent communication skills
  • Strong problem-solving capability
  • Ability to work across multiple contractors and stakeholders
  • Ability to manage complex technical interfaces
