Job Description

Ensure automotive manufacturing meets quality requirements. Resolve supplier quality issues, and ensure seamless transition of new products into mass production.  Identify, evaluate, and resolve supplier-related quality issues to improve and protect plant operations, including assessing material planning and manufacturing. Perform root cause analysis and develop permanent countermeasures to prevent recurrence. Develop quality assurance process improvement plans and drive implementation. Monitor and maintain supplier performance metrics to maintain quality. Analyze and generate regular reports for senior management, highlighting SQEs/Supplier performance, OKRs-Goals-KPIs, risks, and strategies for improvement. Collect data and perform supplier assessments, audits, and site inspections to identify areas for improvement.  Develop robust solutions that protect plant operations and improve product quality in collaboration with Manufacturing, Plant Quality, Material Planning, Logistics, NPI teams, and suppliers. This position supervises other employees.

Minimum Requirements:

• Education and Experience: Master’s degree or foreign equivalent degree in Industrial Engineering, Material Science, Chemical Engineering, or a related engineering field and three years of experience in any occupation in which experience in automotive supplier quality engineering was gained.
• Special Skills: This position also requires education or experience in: 1) Automotive quality assurance practices and methodologies; 2) APQP, PPAP, FMEA in automotive manufacturing; 3) 8D, 5-WHY, and Fishbone; 4) Internal and external audit support for automotive quality; 5) Developing inspection plans; 6) Managing relationships with automotive suppliers; and 7) 2D drawing interpretation and 3DX measurements.
