We are seeking an entry-level Radio Installer or an individual willing to learn and grow in the communications industry. Training will be provided for candidates with a strong work ethic, mechanical aptitude, and willingness to learn.

The installer will assist with the physical and technical installation of communication systems in vehicles, buildings, and telecommunication structures. Under close supervision, the installer will help run cables, mount equipment, and ensure proper signal reception and system functionality.

After completing training, the installer will assist with the installation and maintenance of land-mobile radio equipment, including mounting equipment in vehicles, running power and ground coaxial cables, testing operational performance, assisting with programming channels and frequencies, and cleaning, repairing, or replacing radio equipment.

Core Responsibilities

  • Install and mount two-way radios, mobile transceivers, antennas, emergency lighting, and siren systems in service and emergency vehicles or at base stations.
  • Run and secure power, ground, and coaxial cables while ensuring proper routing and weatherproofing.
  • Assist lead technician with testing and troubleshooting communication systems using diagnostic tools such as multimeters.
  • Help program radio channels, frequencies, and software configurations.
  • Clean, repair, or replace defective radio equipment and components.
  • Maintain a clean and organized workspace, including inventory and tool organization.
  • Follow company safety procedures and installation standards.

Qualifications & Skills

  • Ability to lift up to 50 pounds.
  • Comfortable climbing ladders and working in confined spaces such as vehicle interiors.
  • Ability to bend, kneel, and work in various weather conditions.
  • Clean driving record and ability to pass a criminal background check.
  • Basic understanding of 12-volt DC electrical systems preferred.
  • Familiarity with hand tools and basic diagnostic equipment is beneficial.
  • Strong willingness to learn and follow instructions.
  • Good problem-solving and communication skills.

Credentials Needed

  • Ability to maneuver in tight spaces and work outdoors in varying weather conditions.
  • Dependable work ethic and attention to detail.
  • Valid driver’s license required.
