Position Summary

The Utilities Operations Lead is responsible for the day-to-day coordination, operational oversight, and performance management of utility systems and infrastructure services supporting Fluidstack’s Model T manufacturing facility.

This role serves as the primary operational leader for utility readiness, service continuity, outage coordination, utility vendor alignment, and infrastructure support across the site. Working under the direction of the Operations Manager – Facilities, the Utilities Operations Lead ensures that critical utility systems remain aligned to production requirements, workforce ramp, equipment readiness, facility operations, and long-term operational stability.

The Utilities Operations Lead partners closely with Facilities, Maintenance, Manufacturing, Warehouse Operations, Safety Operations, Digital Systems Integration, and Fluidstack site stakeholders to ensure utility services are visible, reliable, coordinated, and responsive to operational demand.

This position plays a critical role during site mobilization, Assembly launch, Fabrication expansion, and long-term production operations by helping ensure utilities are not a constraint to workforce readiness, equipment availability, production continuity, or facility stability.

Key Responsibilities

Utility Operations Management

Lead daily coordination and operational oversight of site utility systems supporting the Model T facility.

Oversee activities related to:

Electrical infrastructure coordination

HVAC and environmental control support

Water and process utility support

Compressed air systems

Building utility distribution

Utility service continuity

Utility outage planning

Utility vendor coordination

Utility-related incident escalation

Ensure utility operations are aligned with production schedules, facility readiness, and operational priorities.

Utility Readiness & Site Mobilization

Support utility readiness activities required for workforce ramp, equipment activation, and production launch.

Coordinate planning related to:

Utility availability

Startup readiness

Service continuity requirements

Utility capacity assumptions

Production area support

Operational occupancy needs

Utility-related dependencies

Site readiness reviews

Partner with Fluidstack stakeholders to identify utility constraints, open dependencies, and readiness risks prior to operational go-live.

Production Support & Operational Continuity

Ensure utility systems and infrastructure support active manufacturing operations.

Partner with Manufacturing and Maintenance leaders to support:

Assembly launch readiness

Fabrication activation

Equipment utility requirements

Production support needs

Planned utility interruptions

Operational recovery activities

Issue escalation and resolution

Work proactively to minimize utility-related disruption to production execution.

Outage Coordination & Impact Management

Coordinate planned and unplanned utility events across the facility.

Support:

Planned outage communication

Shutdown planning

Utility interruption coordination

Impact assessment

Work area notification

Recovery planning

Restart coordination

Post-event review

Ensure affected operational stakeholders receive timely communication and are aligned on impacts, mitigation actions, and recovery timing.

Vendor & Contractor Coordination

Coordinate with third-party utility vendors, service providers, and contractors supporting utility systems.

Manage activities related to:

Vendor scheduling

Scope coordination

Site access alignment

Safety integration

Work execution visibility

Service issue escalation

Vendor performance reporting

Contractor coordination

Ensure vendor and contractor work is planned, communicated, and executed in alignment with facility and safety requirements.

Utility Performance Monitoring

Support development and management of utility performance visibility across the site.

Monitor and report on:

Utility uptime

Utility interruptions

System availability

Service request trends

Vendor response performance

Utility readiness status

Recurring issue patterns

Operational impact events

Provide regular updates to Facilities leadership, Program Management, and impacted operational stakeholders.

Utility Reliability & Risk Management

Partner with Facilities, Maintenance, and Safety teams to identify and reduce utility-related operational risk.

Support:

Utility risk identification

Failure trend analysis

Preventive action planning

Escalation protocols

System resiliency planning

Utility-related corrective actions

Lessons learned reviews

Assist in developing practices that improve long-term utility reliability and operational resilience.

Safety & Compliance Integration

Coordinate closely with Safety Operations and Fluidstack HSE for utility-related work activities.

Support safety alignment related to:

Energy control expectations

Utility isolation activities

Contractor safety coordination

High-energy work areas

Hot work interface points

Electrical safety coordination

Incident escalation

Corrective action follow-through

Ensure utility activities are coordinated in a manner that supports Fluidstack’s safety standards and site-level authority.

Systems & Reporting Coordination

Partner with the Digital Systems Integration organization to support utility-related reporting and systems visibility.

Coordinate use of:

CMMS platforms

Building Management Systems

Utility monitoring tools

Service request systems

Asset management systems

Power BI dashboards

Vendor reporting systems

Support accurate utility data, issue tracking, work order visibility, and performance reporting.

Cross-Functional Operational Integration

Partner closely with:

Facilities Operations

Maintenance Operations

Manufacturing Operations

Warehouse Operations

Safety Operations

Digital Systems Integration

Site Services

Fluidstack Site Leadership

Vendor / Contractor Teams

Ensure utility plans, risks, outages, and service impacts are communicated and coordinated across all affected workstreams.

Manage utility-related issues from identification through resolution.

Operational disruptions

Corrective actions

Maintain visibility into open issues and drive timely resolution with appropriate stakeholders.

Support implementation of improvements that increase utility stability and reduce operational disruption.

Staffing and coverage plan

Establish the utility coordination structure required ahead of workforce ramp and site activation.

Phase 2 – Production Launch & Workforce Ramp

Vendor governance cadence

Utility performance reporting

Production support communication

Provide hands-on leadership during Assembly launch and early operational ramp.
